Quite often on this journey when we have talked to people we have shared what we are doing and given out our card. Somedays, like today, I was just a little tired. I did not have the same enthusiasm for sharing when I woke up. The cool thing, and I believe God meets us draws near to us when we draw near to him (James 4:8), was that when we went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning we had two groups of people ask us and engage us in conversation making it very easy to share. Joan, Kathy, Mike and Bob were one of the groups and the other person I believe was a Manager of the restaurant. The encouragement was cool! Thank you to everyone who encourages us through texts and facebook posts.
Marcee started the ride this morning as usual. Unusual however was that she saw a bunch of riders. It turns out that there was a ride and they were all going the opposite direction as us. We had the opportunity again to ride on a bike trail. It was only about 7 miles. We picked up the trail in . The problem was that we had a difficult time finding the trail in the beginning. Just when we decided to bag it and drive we found the trail. I rode and Marcee met me at the end. The problem was that I overshot the end of the trail because the street was not marked so I had to double back about a mile. We still have not mastered the bike trails and following in the cars.
We entered Canada late afternoon our second country after about 2 weeks in Michigan.
When we got to Canada we chatted with Pete and Liz from Sarnia, Ontario. Pete took the photo.
I took this last photo from our ferry which held 9 vehicles and cost $6.
The riding in Ontario has been nice! We started off along the St Clair Parkway which borders the St Clair Lake. Beautiful! The roads are flatter than anywhere I can remember in the states thus far. Tonight we are staying at a Wal Mart in Chatham which is about 20 miles from where we stopped cycling in Dresdan.
By the way gas so far is expensive $1.24 per litre at nearly 4 litres to the gallon that is just about $4.80 per gallon. We have not fueled up just yet.
Notice the maple leaf in the logo.
