We traveled through the 'thumb' of Michigan today. We made our way through Caro, Fairgrove, Mayville, Silverwood, North Branch, Brown City and Capac. We had a smooth day of riding. The wind was out of the North so as we zig zagged east and south we had a good bit of time with a nice tailwind. The roads were lightly populated for the most part as well. We had spent the previous night in Caro and then driven to Quanicassee to start our trip. When we stopped in Caro we pulled up at a motel named Woodyzz. The owner, Woody, pulled up in a truck, talked to us for a little bit, and then invited us in for bagels and juice from the continental breakfast at the motel. Great hospitality and a great looking motel! Thank you Woody for your hospitality.
In Brown City we stopped at a 9/11 Firefighter's Memorial. I have included a picture below. I am very thankful for their service and sacrifice.
