After spending the night at the tourist camping park in Munising and enjoying breakfast in town at Sydney’s restaurant we drove to Seney to start the ride.  We started on Michigan Hwy 77 which connects Hwy 28 and Hwy 2 and headed south.  We then picked up Hwy 2 and headed east our last day in the U.P.  Meat pasties, smoked fish and homemade pies seem to be real popular throughout a lot of the U.P.  We met more folks along the way today.  That is a highlight of the trip.  Sometimes we just want to keep going but if we do not stop and talk with people I think we will be missing out.  That is a neat part of the trip for me.  We met Hilda and her husband in the afternoon.  We chatted with Hilda first and then met her husband at a rest area down the road.

Once we picked up Hwy 2 the shoulder went to about 8ft which was nice as traffic was busy with cars, RVs and logging trucks.  The view of Lake Michigan was gorgeous and in several spots we had direct access to the beach.  It really was a beautiful ride.  We hopped off the bikes at 530pm and then headed into St. Ignace where we picked up the ferry to visit our friend Ron Wilber on Mackinaw Island.  Ron treated us to dinner in town at the Island Pizza and gave us a tour.   Thank you Ron!
